"Well that was an odd combination!"
Very very interesting, funny, and cool sounding.

I Really, really dont like the all the synth stuff that comes in the middle. It should be an acoustic bass and guitars or horns instead. It almost ruins it, but the first part is so great I'll just review that. I think you could use some help on your drum kits, and by help I mean keep trying, but that is the best piano I've heard on any newgrounds piece to date. Great Job. 5/5, 10/10. Favorited.

"Generic rock done very memorably!"
I noticed a few random timing issues or parts that I didn't feel fit, but since you "cranked this out on a saturday night" it's really not important.
This is pretty much the unpolished equivalent of the punk/alternative rock you find popular these days. It's catchy and fun. And I have a story for you...
When the song started I envisioned a voice singing and I wished you had added a vocal track, just then your voice came in and it sounded exactly like I had heard. It was whack. Good track, 10/10, 5/5.
Author's Response:
thanks! yeah, i'm still working on my timing now and then, but i'll master it sometime.

"The definition of summer mellowness in song format"
First criticism= This needs a bit of work. The drum kit is just ruining it for me for most of the time. I would suggest a much more laid back beat, especially when the crash cymbal comes into play about half way through the track. When the song opens up, the timing is a little arrhythmic, which is not at all what this kind of music needs. Something, quiet, simple, and in the pocket would suit the rest of the song much better, in my opinion. Just putting the hi hat on the downbeat with kicks on 2 and 4 would do nicely I think with a switch to ride with subtle accents towards the middle and end.
The Good= Wow. This really captures that scene in the movie and a certain lazy awkward spirit that serves as a candence for much of my life. I love this track. The beginning with the train car-esque bumping all the way through, it's fantastic. 5/5. I just watched the movie Juno with my girlfriend, and this would, seriously, be at home on the track for that movie.
In conclusion, with that drumkit fixed you might just have created my favorite audio submission.
Author's Response:
wow, i'm always glad to have someone likeing my stuff, but your FAVORITE? that's really cool...thanks!

"This shows no characteristics of a song."
Had you labeled this a loop, I would have given you a 3/5 for composing a piece that really does sound like a terrestrial exploration theme. However, as a song, it is about the equivalent of me hitting (relatively) random notes on my keyboard for nearly 3 minutes and then posting it. Try to show more depth by adding more than one sound, but more importantly, it needs to follow some semblance of a pattern. There is no distinguishable melody or chorus line. Any series of notes which is repeated appears to be done by pure accident. It DOES show potential however, and with a track similiar to this, with a little more planning before hand, and a drum beat behind it, you could write a nice techno piece.
Author's Response:
well i don't want it to be techno and it has a pattern if you hadn't noticed. i go back to the same 4 notes sometimes.

Loving the melody, I agree with DjMateius, this makes me want to play my piano. I also think the beat could use a tad bit of tweaking. It's not bad by any means, but I think it could be better, and if, if, you managed to achieve that unparalleled level of musical complexity, you would surely trascend to NewGrounds Royalty, just like Dre did back in the 90's. Maybe you didnt hear about it...
Author's Response:
Man thanks for the HUGE compliment!
Greatly appreciated.
Anyway what about Dre?

This is a nice piece of work. I think there are a few timing issues in the 30's secounds portion between the drums and guitars, or possibly just a strong reverb. In either case it was confusing. As I whole I liked it. To make a more appealing song for the masses, I would suggest adding lower/softer/ less busy key parts between the sections you have now for a more verse/chorus kind of feel.
Author's Response:
Yeah I had a hard time fitting the guitars and the drums, but I got it pretty ok, so I was satisfied with that.
'Cause this is (as many of my latest submissions) no serious project thingy, it was just fast-made in the times of boredom, so I wasn't much bothered if it didn't sound 100% perfect.
Yeah well since it's more meant as a loop, I didn't plan it to have any verse/chorus feel whatsoever, since it's still gonna loop.
Nor do I give a shit if "the masses" appeal to this song. If someone's bothered about it then be bothered, I just made something to have something to do and to make something groovey for those who appreciate groovey music.
Thanks very much for your review though. Nice with someone reviewing some constructive critisizm instead of "YOU RAWK!!" or "YOU SUCK ASS, IM GONNA RAPE YOUR MOM", too bad it wasn't one of my more serious songs that I really put a lot of work and effort in and that I really want constructive critisizm to.

"Turns everyday tasks to ardorous feats of glory!"
I performed some routine work on my computer (i.e. installing updates, converting files, etc.) while listening to this song and found myself filled with passion concerning mundane tasks which I could not explain! I would recommend listening to this when you take out the garbage, as you may find yourself leading an unstoppable rebel force towards certain death against an evil orc warlord opressor in the process! Kudos, Bravo, 10 stars.
